Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operational Management:
    • Handle import operations to Japan, including customs, compliance, and Importer of Record (IOR) requirements.
    • Collaborate with Japanese 3PLs (Third-Party Logistics providers) and freight forwarders to ensure smooth logistics operations.
    • Identify and onboard better 3PLs or freight forwarders to optimize operational costs.
  2. E-Commerce Management:
    • Manage and direct the daily operations of the e-commerce sales department of the organization.
    • Manage and optimize Amazon Japan and Rakuten sales, including listing creation, updates, and performance tracking.
    • Identify growth opportunities within the existing catalog for the Japanese market.
  3. Marketing and Advertising:
    • Plan, design, develop, and implement pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns and brand initiatives.
    • Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance ROI.
  4. Sales Forecasting and Performance Analysis:
    • Forecast anticipated market sales, set sales quotas, and advise upper management about sales performance.
    • Analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements.
  5. Sales Campaign Development:
    • Develop and implement new sales campaigns, initiatives, strategies, and programs to attract new and retain current customers.
  6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize Excel and Google Sheets to analyze data, track KPIs, and provide actionable insights.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
    • Proactively identify and address operational or sales challenges.
  8. Expansion Management
  • Engage with regional leaders to identify and prioritize country-specific market demand and requirements for new products, offers, and modalities
  • Engage with launch planning teams across the region to align expansion priorities with existing product and infrastructure roll-out plans
  • Define the launch readiness requirements and coordinate with overall launch readiness teams to ensure a market leading experience
  • Develop and manage a prioritization process for aligning leaders on market entry plans, taking into account key dependencies
  • Manage the success of geographic market launch and expansion efforts

Qualifications:
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (spoken and written).
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese import processes, customs regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with Japanese 3PLs and freight forwarders.
  • Proven track record in Amazon and Rakuten sales, including listing creation and optimization.
  • Expertise in PPC campaign management and brand marketing strategies.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and market growth potential.
  • Proactive, organized, and excellent at communication.
  • Familiarity with Japanese consumer behavior and market trends.
